Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Research

All Advanced Heart Failure, MCS and Heart Transplantation fellows are required to participate in meaningful research during their training. Fellows will be paired with a research mentor or mentors early in the year depending on their interest within heart failure.

UC San Diego Advanced Heart Failure faculty participate in numerous basic and clinical research studies, many of which are multi-center trials, with some faculty involved with investigator-initiated trials.

The extensive research experience available include:

All UC San Diego Advanced Heart Failure, MCS and Heart Transplantation faculty have had extensive experience conducting clinical research at UC San Diego, including interacting with the UC San Diego Human Subjects Protection (IRB) Committee. Additionally, a vibrant group of research coordinators assist the faculty in recruitment and trial completion.
